You can do most of the work for the Theory & Hazard Perception Test yourself, but it's worth having a few hours of Driving Tuition before you go too far, as the practical experience will help you to understand the Theory and the Hazard Perception better.
Statistics suggest that you are more likely to pass your Practical Driving Test in a car with Dual Controls, than you are in a private car. The Driving Standards Agency (the people who set and operate the Test) states that:
"Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training, combined with 22 hours of private practice."
Once you have passed your Practical Driving Test and gained your Full Licence, why not complete a Pass Plus course?
Why? It will take your driving to the next stage, making you a better, safer and more capable driver.
It will also save your money (often enough to pay for the course itself) by being entitled to cheaper Insurance with most of the major
Car Insurance companies.
And if you live in Kent, are aged between 17 and 19, and take the course with AFT Driving School,
Kent County Council will pay £60 towards the cost (subject to you meeting some simple conditions)!!
There's no formal Test to take, just 6 modules to complete with each one continually assessed by your Pass Plus Instructor.
The whole process, for a Student taught by AFT Driving School can be completed in a little over 6 hours. Most people who have had Professional Tuition before taking their Practical Driving Test will have little difficulty in completing the course.
